R: [Geoserver-devel] hi

I added a JIRA task on how to use the new MIFDataStore with GeoServer:
  http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-375

Note that it applies to GeoServer 1.3.0-RC1. It may work with earlier
versions,
but I didn't tested it, nor I ever will...
For any question please add a comment to the JIRA task itself or post to
this list.

Bye
Paolo Rizzi

The native binary format (.tab + .dat + .map + .id + .ind) is not
supported.

We developed a MIFDataStore which can read and write MapInfo
Interchange Format (.mif / .mid) files.

A possible workaround for now is using the tab2tab utility (see
http://mitab.maptools.org) for converting your tab files into mif
format, then you can access the mif files within GeoServer.

You can find more info, and the .jar file, at:

http://www.geotools.org/MIFDataStore

Ok, I'll do it!

Best regards

Sig

Hi all, I thanks you for the answers. I try to test the MIFDataStore with
GeoServer 1.2.4, but don´t work with this version (gt2-main.jar) becouse
don´t suport the org/geotools/feature/FeatureTypeBuilder. My cuestion is:
can I work with the GeoServer 1.2.4 code and the gt2-main.jar of the
GeoServer 1.3? to use the MIFDataStore...
Regards.

Quoting Omar Zevallos <omzeta@anonymised.com>:

Hi all, I thanks you for the answers. I try to test the MIFDataStore
with
GeoServer 1.2.4, but don´t work with this version (gt2-main.jar)
becouse
don´t suport the org/geotools/feature/FeatureTypeBuilder. My cuestion
is:
can I work with the GeoServer 1.2.4 code and the gt2-main.jar of the
GeoServer 1.3? to use the MIFDataStore...

Unfortunately I don't think you can. There were too many changes
between gt 2.0 and 2.1. I was quite upset about this, but there's not
much we could do about it. So you'll have to use 1.3 to use
MIFDataStore. It's getting pretty stable though, the next release
should be just as good as 1.2.4, and better in many ways.

best regards,

Chris
