I think this brings up a more general point, which is that to my
knowledge all importing and exporting tools (should) disregard whatever
the current region and mask settings are, and just convert the data in
the source map to its equivalent in the target map. So r.in.sunrast
should not be affected be the region settings.
This is fine as long as there is an option that makes these tools heed
the current region. I frequently want to extract/export/whatever
only part of a given data set.
