RE: [Geoserver-devel] Installation of Mapbuilder with Geoserver u nder Win XP

Hi Ben,

The difference between the .war and .zip files is that one runs in a servlet
container (like tomcat) and the other runs in something like Apache with
PHP. Both the .zip and .war versions will run with GeoServer because it
interacts with GeoServer by a web service interface (WMS and WFS) over http.

GeoServer is all Java, so it will only run in a servlet container. So the
answer of which file to install depends on the server environment you plan
to deploy on.

Subject: [Geoserver-devel] Installation of Mapbuilder with
Geoserver under Win XP

Hi all,

I've downloaded Mapbuilder for win xp, not the WAR file and
according to the website, in order to use mapbuilder for
geoserver I need the WAR file. Is this true? Is there anyway
of using the standard windows zip file to install mapbuilder
and then configure it to be used with geoserver? If so how? I
haven't been able to find out how to do this.

Regards
Ben

Mike,

Okay, so if I'm running apache with php I will need to
use the ZIP version and install it under the installed
apache htdocs?
