Hmmmm… not really, the worst thing that should happen is that the resulting SVG document were pretty big, but it should give you a complete and well formatted svg document anyway.
So, it is possible that this behavoir be caused by a bug or something extrange.
Please set the logging level to FINER and send the logs.
