RE: [GRASS-user] Creating 3D Vector file (v.in.ascii) for eventua luse in NVIZ

Just out of curiosity, what version of vnc2swf do most people use - the C
version, or the python version? Any caveats to be concerned with either way?

I would suggest use flash instead of mpegs

Yes flash is a nice small format.
There is a free tool available to create flash
tutorials from a vnc session.

http://www.unixuser.org/~euske/vnc2swf/

There is a sample tutorial about r3.out.vtk available at:

http://www-pool.math.tu-berlin.de/~soeren/grass/modules/

It would be great if we can provide beginners tutorials
covering themes like:

* what is grass
* creation of a new location
* importing data into grass
* using gis.m
* image data analaysis
* vector data editing
...

GRASS will be much easier to learn for beginners if we
can provide those tutorials.

My 2 cents.

if there is interest on this topic, i could prepare some tutorials

out

of my presentations (fossgis in bonn, foss4g in lausanne). though i

got

some positive feedback, i was never shure, if the presentations are

start for such kind of tutorials.

when should next release of grass news come out?

thanks

The python version 0.8.2 is much better then the c version.
