I have experienced this problem a lot with road data that I have
converted from vector to raster. Have anyone of you in the Grass
community thought about making a modified d.rast program that could
select and retain a certain category value over other values. It would
be a some kind of mode operation with a priority list in the step that
selects the value to represent in one display cell on screen, given that
the resolution is finer in the raster data base file.
I have wanted to write such a modification for a long time but never
have had the time to start such a project. Maybe there are some takers
out there that have thought about the same thing.
