It seems to me that this issue was addressed a couple of years ago on
this list, but I can't find the e-mail on it. Anybody else recall this?

Hi there,
I'm looking for the correct way of citing references for GRASS programs in
published articles etc. It's easy in obvious cases, where manual information
mentions published work, such as s.surf.tps or r.watershed.
The MinMaxer programs (s.voronoi and friends) are not too hard either,
but what about, say, r.surf.contour or r.surf.idw[2]?
Do I use the GRASS User's Reference Manual (CERL, 1993), or something
else, explicitly involving MM. Ehlschlaeger, Koerper, and Shapiro??Martin
