s.semivar

Darrell,

You've got a potential volunteer at our site, so I was in the process of
compiling s.semivar. Then I noted that I need g.gnuplot.

I wanted to use the newest Gmakefile (we have the gnuplot tar here already,
but I had not compiled g.gnuplot), but could not find it at

Some reported problems with the Gmakefile - an updated
version is on
pasture.ecn.purdue.edu:pub/mccauley/grass/Gmakefile.g.gnuplot

I did find it at pub/mccauley/grass/src/general but:

ftp> get Gmakefile.g.gnuplot
Gmakefile.g.gnuplot: Permission denied
ftp> ls -l
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls (0 bytes).
total 3
-rw-r--r-- 1 10627 2694 Jul 25 05:19 Gmakefile.g.gnuplot
226 Transfer complete.
remote: -l
75 bytes received in 0.47 seconds (0.15 Kbytes/s)
ftp> pwd
257 "/pub/grass/src/general" is current directory.

And so my retrieval attempt failed.
Alas.

opps - did some cleaning up the other day...
pasture.ecn.purdue.edu:pub/mccauley/grass/Gmakefile.g.gnuplot
is there now.

FYI - for those interested, a second, much improved, beta version
will be available by Saturday morning.
