It's
probably best if we give you an ssh account to our machine, and

then

you
pull with rsync over ssh a specified directory on maybe a nightly
schedule. At least lets try starting with that. I can see why

later

we

might want to be able to push, in order to get new releases

mirrored

sooner.

Now that we have download.osgeo.org on osgeo7, I'd like to proceed with this.

Can you send me a public key you'll be using to sync the files and I'll create an account for it to pull.
I think a 2-3 scheduled syncs a day should be sufficient.

The folder we'd want synched is the /osgeo folder on download.osgeo.org

Thanks,
Regina

Great! I'd rather we use this instead of doing it through ssh anyway.

Is there a way to access the bottle folder over the rsync endpoint?

The mirror is setup now to pull from you guys every eighth hour, on the 42nd
minute in UTC time.

Apache is setup on ftp.osuosl.org for download.osgeo.org and
bottle.download.osgeo.org. You can view the two folders at
ftp.osuosl.org/pub/osgeo, and you can modify your /etc/hosts to point those
domains to 140.211.166.134 (Master ftp server) to test them as well.

As Lance mentioned, the domains serve our *.osuosl.org certificate by default,
so it will be invalid at least for now. The http:// side of things seems to
work fine.

Let me know if you run into any issues.

Just checking in to see how this is looking and if you've migrated this over to
our FTP servers yet.

Lance,

We were just going to use OSUOSL FTP service for redundancy, not as our main source.
We do have it rsynching to that and I think that is working fine. We haven't done the next step yet on our end for using it for load balancing our new download.osgeo.org if that is what you are asking.

Thanks,
Regina

Yes, I was wondering if you had pointed it to our mirrors yet. Sounds like we
got everything completed for this ticket. Shall we go ahead and close this?
