sample data

Can someone point me to a nice sample database I can use to familiarize
myselft with grass? I have installed the distribution but can't do
anything without some data...

thanks

Hello Mike

The standard grass sample data set is called spearfish and you can find a copy
of it on the Germany Grass site at

http://www.geog.uni-hannover.de/grass/

or at one of its mirror sites. Go to the table at the bottom of the page and
click on the "Sample Data" link that you will find in the third row. This page
contains links to several data sets including spearfish.

Enjoy!
