Greetings from Idaho,
One of our soil scientists is having curious problems with v.cutter and
dead lines. When he uses v.cutter to clip a quad's worth of data from
a large, county size soil data set, he gets hundreds of dead lines. He
can tell this due to the file size compared to the same quad in a
slightly earlier form.
The cutter file is a quad with only four lines. The data file has no
dead lines in it (v.clean was run on it). The output file gets v.spag
run on it. Somewhere along the line, these dead lines pop up and
have to get cleaned away by v.clean.
Any hints on what may be happening either with the program or the way
he is using it? We'd sure use another process if one exists.
Thanks for help in advance,
David Hoover
