Could you supply a little more information? What platform, OS version,
and GRASS version (+ update) are you using? Did you compile it or did
you install the binaries from the moon?
I had a similar problem on a Sun SPARC 20 running Solaris 2.4-- I
traced the problem to a vector library function call that starts out in
v.build ($GIS/etc/v.build). I never did solve the original problem,
but a satisfactory fix was to replace v.build with an old copy of
v.build that I had compiled under SunOS 4.1.1. Works like a charm
now. Apparently the vector library needs some work under Solaris 2.4.
