Yesterday I sent out a message
asking for advice about v.trim.
Scott Miller had replied that I
should check my region (thanks
for the reply Scott!). I guess
that I should have mentioned that
the region is definitely fine. In
fact, my map covers the continental
U.S.A. and the only areas included
in the output "trimmed" map are
North and South Dakota, Texas,
West Virginia, and a portion of
Virgina. How can I successfully
get rid of my extra nodes??? Any advice
would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. I've been trying
to use v.trim on a vector map
in order to get rid of all
excess nodes. To do this,
a trim value of zero should
be used, otherwise "small
spurs", will be deleted
also. At this point, all
that I want to work with is
the nodes. However, the resulting
output map is only a small
portion of my original map.Why isn't the rest of the
map being run through the
v.trim process?Amy Keeley

Amy,
Have you checked to make sure your g.region is set
such that the entire area you want to process
is encompassed by you current region?Good luck,
Scott
