The d.3d program only works with raster layers. The trick to getting around this
limitation is to create a composite raster layer using the CELL driver. This way
you can make a 3d image of anything that you can normally display in GRASS,
including vectors and even text. You'll find discussion on use of the CELL
driver in the GRASShopper archives on moon.cecer.army.mil, or I can e-mail you
specifics if you have questions.

Does anyone know if it is allready possible to plot vector map layers or
raster map layers with a vector overlay in 3d. Thanks in advance for your
