Where can I find XDriver 24_Bit for linux?

My version of grass 4.2.1 and 5.0b have not XDRIVER_24 bit. I think is the reason that i can not display all colors of my raster Image. Where I can download this Xdriver?

In 4.2 and 5.x, the "regular" XDRIVER is really the XDRIVER24, which
means that it _will_ display on 16- and 24-bit desktops. It still only
displays a maximum of 256 colors :frowning:
_Someday_ we'll get a true 24-bit display!!

Is anybody working on this improvement? In my opinion,
the poor display of imagery in Grass is a major
shortcome that actually makes that many people
has to use other packages.

Grass users,

I'm looking an information I did not find in the Grass site :

I work with grass4.2.1 on a Linux RedHat 5.1.

Is it possible to use NVIZ (getting source and compiling it) in this environment,

or do I have to load and install grass5.0 ?
