Why GRASSP?

How many people out there subscribe to GRASSP but do not subscribe to
GRASSU. How many people only subscribe to just one of them? If not
very many, I suggest the elimination of GRASSP. I'm getting tired of
receiving two copies of the same email (one to GRASSP and one to
GRASSU). I have to compare the two messages to see if indeed they are
the same (as their identical title and authorship implies). Besides
GRASSP has a very low volume. Having only one hopper, would allow the
receiver to decide whether their interested in a certain type of
question not the sender.

I understand the concept of the division, but in practice it doesn't
seem to be working the way it was conceived. People are sending
programmer questions to GRASSU and user questions to GRASSP. That's
probably partly because it's so hard to tell what is the dividing
line between a programmer question and a user question.

Indeed, the 2 lists should be merged into one list. To differentiate (if wanted)
it is possible to make a PREFIX in the SUBJECT line, e.g. Subject: U:etc.
or Subject: P: etc. so every one can see the intention of that message.

I agree that the two list could be merged. I think that could be time saving
for most people.
