A: After successfully compiling the XDRIVER on my MkLInux box when I now
try to start monitor x0 I am told the fifo.1a (?) file is not present in the dev (?).
As it compiled i watched it parse the error ...fifo.1a not
present... fifo.1a sucessfully written, etc...
B: The CELL drive woudl not compile and returned the error
/usr/local/grass5.0beta/src/display/devices/CELL
make -f OBJ.linux/make.rules
OBJ.linux/make.rules:143: *** missing seperator stop.
GISGEN failure at STEP: /src/display/devices/CELL
C: Even though I could not display anything I was testing out some of
the functionality. I created a site list, then in s.menu converted that
to a raster. r.report worked on the created map, but when I tried
r.buffer I got the error
Warning: unable to find a temporary null file
/usr/local/grass_data/rjoe_test/grass/.tmp/localhost.localdomain/3490.1
I checked under
/usr/local/grass_data/rjoe_test/grass/.tmp/localhost.localdomain/
and there was no file 3490.1
D: I also tried r.random and had the error returned:
Warning: Can't write embedded null values for map open for randoms access
I have not seen this many errors since my old sysadmin installed
Grass4.1 for the first time on an HP in 93...any ideas, I have the
feeling I am missing something basic here. Thanks.
