My interests range from biodiversity and ecology to spatial data analysis. I consider myself a lifelong learner, always eager to explore new ideas and expand my horizons both professionally and personally.

I am a senior lecturer in the program Applied Geo-information Science at the HAS green academy, teaching ecology, nature conservation and (spatial) data science topics.

As researcher in the Innovative bio-monitoring and the Climate-robust Landscapes research groups, my work focuses on how to leverage data science to help to address societal challenges.

I am an advocate of open-source tools, because I believe that the use of open-source software and open data contributes to a more transparent, rapid, and inclusive science. Plus, with tools like R, GRASS GIS, and QGIS being some of the best tools available, it’s an easy choice!
