For years I’ve been using Vermont’s publicly available location data in QGIS without incident. Here’s the ACRGIS Rest Server URL , there is only one layer, FS_VCGI_OPENDATA_Emergency_ESITE_point_SP_v1
Because the REST server is no longer working I download a GPKG from the state but this chore shouldn’t be necessary. Something has changed in QGIS or the layer, but neither I nor the GIS folks in the state offices have been able to figure out what the problem is. This all started last August. It’s not an issue with QGIS, I don’t think, because it stopped working in an older version and upgrading to Bratislava made no difference.
One clue perhaps is that the layer’s symbol in the REST Server section and the one on the GPKG version of the layer is the arc of points that indicates a point layer, while the symbology on the layer that triggers a Repair Data dialog box is for a MultiFeature layer (point, line, polygon).
Adding to the network timeout makes no difference. I have a symetrical gigabit fiber internet service and all 300K points load in less than a minute if I’m all zoomed out to see the entire state. No, there is something about the layer itself. Other state provided point layers continue to work just fine.
Any suggestions for how to chase down the misconfiguration or bad data that is causing the problem?
