Tell us about yourself

I’m a geospatial IT advisor working with decentralized government in the Netherlands. In my day-to-day work, I deal with a wide range of challenges that require practical geospatial data solutions.

Over the years, I’ve built up solid hands-on experience with tools like QGIS, PostGIS, GeoServer, and GDAL, as well as commercial products built on OSGeo software. Alongside that, I have some experience in software development—mainly as a hobby, but something I’m keen to apply more in my professional work.

What do you want to learn / contribute

What prompted me to join this forum is that my work regularly sparks ideas on how existing OSGeo tools and workflows could be improved. I’m interested in exploring how I can contribute to the ecosystem and how I might get more involved with the community over time.

I’ll be sharing one of those ideas in the developer forum shortly, and I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions on how to take it further.

Dion,

Welcome to our community. I’m PSC development team member of PostGIS, pgRouting, and GEOS projects so I’ll try to answer any questions along those lines if you have them.
