Closure on Logos / Round II

Looking over the comments and trying to distill out the general
sentiment (not easy...), I think we get the following:

* We seem to be okay with John's revised version of the base logo.
Agreed?

* There might be issues with the rendering at small scales; I'll ask
John if we can clean those up a bit. OK?

* We all have different greens in mind, but no one feels very strongly
apparently. I see two suggestions, Arnulf's "solid green" (0,255,0) or
Jason's button-green
(https://visibilitycommittee.osgeo.org/files/documents/18/303/1x1_button
.png).
Assuming he stuck to John's "only two pantone colors" rule, I suggest we
adopt that shade of green. (Will it still look good with a white
background...?) Your thoughts?

* For the "black background / full color" one, we should use white text.
Agreed?

* The OSGeo text should be center-right of the compass. If tagline
used, tagline is below OSGeo text. Yes?

* Sans font is good. Right?

Having only rec'd respones from Jason, it looks like the only question
is whether we want/need multicolor versions -- not hearing any other
responses, I'm going to make an executive decision and go with these
recommendations on Monday morning (unless someone chimes in with
concrete alternatives over the weekend):

* John's revised version of the base logo is okay, with 4 small tweaks
as follows:

* Will ask about rendering of spokes, etc, at small scales.

* For the "black background / full color" one, we should use white text.

* The OSGeo text should be center-right of the compass. If tagline
used, tagline is below OSGeo text.

* Sans font is good.

+1 from me

I'm quite happy with John's current version, including his colours. It has grown on me. I'm looking forward to getting to use these!

Sorry to weigh in so late, I'll be rising from the fog of my past job on Monday as I start full time on OSGeo stuff.

Thanks for the discussion on this - I'm quite happy with it all.
