Community MapBuilder Nightly Build Status

To whom it may concern:
The Community MapBuilder project is using xblade14-2 (the buildbot server, as well) to do our nightly builds. We are using continuum and geoserver, running on ports 8080 and 8787, respectively, to handle the builds, and provide a demo testbed/wms server.

Full details (currently unfinished) are up at: http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Community_Mapbuilder_Continuum_Builds (thanks to Frank Warmerdam)

The next step will be cleanup of that page, and to add in rc scripts for geoserver and continuum startup (is there a preferred file naming and placement convention for that?)

Thanks to all,

Matt,

Thanks for this note.
I just want to confirm these ports are not in conflict with Buildbot
ports. Our Buildbot uses following ranges: 8500-8599 1500-1599
(certainly, it's far from having such a big number of bots :-))

As a late followup, I'd like to move all mapbuilder stuff to a
/usr/local/mapbuilder directory, or possibly, a /home/mapbuilder, or
something of the sort.

Is there a preferred location? Would it be appropriate to create a
mapbuilder user account, instead of just using my personal login?

Thanks in advance,
Matthew D. Diez

Matt,

I would like to suggest /osgeo/mapbuilder. I've been trying to keep
everything of value under /osgeo segregated by project or service.

I don't think per-project accounts are a good idea, but I don't have
a good alternative to your just owning stuff. I'd suggest we just put
off dealing with this for the time being till we get to the point where
we are using "ldap.osgeo.org" accounts for telascience blades.

Best regards,
