Tell us about yourself

Hello everyone,

My name is Emanuel de Medeiros and I work at Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa (TML), in Portugal.

I work in the field of spatial data infrastructures, geospatial interoperability and metropolitan mobility, with a strong focus on open source technologies and OGC standards.

Our team is currently developing a metropolitan Spatial Data Infrastructure using technologies such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS, QGIS, MapStore and pygeoapi.

What do you want to learn / contribute

We are joining the OSGeo community through our participation in FOSS4G Europe 2026 and we are looking forward to learning more about community workflows, open source geospatial ecosystems and collaborative approaches for metropolitan-scale SDI development.

At the same time, we would also like to share and present the Spatial Data Infrastructure currently being developed by Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa (TML), highlighting its contribution to metropolitan mobility, transport management and geospatial interoperability across the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.

Our infrastructure plays an important role in the integration and dissemination of transport and territorial information for the 18 municipalities of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, supporting public access to geospatial information, interoperability between systems and data-driven decision-making through open source technologies and OGC standards.

We also hope to share our experience regarding mobility data integration, interoperability and open source SDI implementation within a metropolitan context.
