OGC is developing a geospatial standard for HEIF called GeoHEIF. In preparation for the official release of GeoHEIF, I’m trying to get QGIS to display regular HEIF images taken from an iPhone.
GDAL already supports HEIF, so I believe the QGIS build process just needs to set some compiler flag to include libheif.
