Below you will find the call for proposals for this years FOSS4G Belgium. I’m not sure I’ll make it, and pretty sure that I won’t have the time to prepare a talk. If anyone else is up to it, please feel free. Last year, I had the feeling that a hands-on introduction to what can be done with GRASS GIS, with a series of examples, would probably have been better than my “State of” talk. GRASS is nowadays known only in theory, or from the past, by many FOSS4G actors in Belgium.
If anyone comes to Brussels from afar to present, don’t hesitate to give me a shout for a place to stay.

The call for proposals for FOSS4G Belgium 2026 (15 October 2026) is open.
Please submit your proposal before 10 August 2026.
This year, we emphasize both format diversity and content types: the call now also includes maps, posters and workshops, in addition to talks.
- Flash talks (2 min) for short ideas, maps or posters
- Standard presentations (25 min)
- Workshops (90 min) for hands-on sessions
The goal is to make it easy for everyone to contribute, whether you want to present a topic, showcase a map, or share a project.
