Hi, this is the first time I write to this list.
In the lab where I have worked, we have a lot of projects that use
GeoNetwork.
In order to answer our demands, we have many GeoNetwork systems installed in
our servers, one for each project.
This makes me change GeoNetwork to support the use of subcategories, which
means we don't have several GeoNetwork systems installed anymore, but only
one, containing the metadata of different projects grouped by a root
category, or infinite subcategories.
I have changed some XSL, Java and Database files, and at this moment almost
everything is working fine. Still, I just can't list the categories that
exist in the management page to insert/edit categories. This is giving a
hard time.
My question is about the importance of this possibility for the community
and if that hurts the idea of GeoNetwork in any point. Do the developers
agree with this change? Or is this just a particular need of mine?
Thanks for now,
Lennon.
