Hi All,
We’ve had a request to provide an email notification for administrators when new metadata is created in GeoNetwork. The details need to be figured out (for example, do they mean when new metadata is created from scratch, or when it’s imported). I understand that this would mean a change to the status as described in https://geonetwork-opensource.org/manuals/4.0.x/en/user-guide/workflow/life-cycle.html?highlight=status#status-action) but I was wondering if it was something that people would be interested in including in the core software? I’m not all that keen on maintaining a custom fork for them, but I can see that to properly implement it we’d probably want a setting to disable this (perhaps for when there’s a bulk import of records).
If it is something that people would be interested in seeing as a core enhancement, we’d be looking at implementing it in 4.2.x. We’d be happy to have a go at doing the work ourselves, but would appreciate some guidance and pointers as to the best approach (and possibly some help if we get stuck). Does that all sound OK?
Thanks
Jo
