Hi List,
In Geonetwork 3.0.x, if you begin the process of creating a record from a template (eg you go to the contribute menu, click “Add new record”, choose the template and then click the “Create” button), there’s no way of backing out of that- the record is created even if you make no further changes and click “cancel” rather than “save” in the editing view. This leads to lots of duplicate incomplete records, generally all with the name of the template.
I’m not sure if that’s a bug, eg whether the cancel button in the edit view should delete the record you have created, or if there needs to be another option to delete the record without saving it.

In 2.10 editor was used a flag “just created”, so if that flag was enabled the cancel button managed to delete the metadata, this seem has not been migrated to GeoNetwork 3.0.
