Hi all,
In the incubation process of GeoNetwork to OSGEO, we have some steps to take. One is to improve the tracking we do for bugs etc...
We have some options, moving away from SourceForge.net for that.
OSGEO offers Trac (see Mapbender for an example running on osgeo servers)
This is an open source tracker.
The other option could be the use of JIRA (see for instance the geotools project: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT )
This is a proprietary tracker with free licenses for open source projects.
I would like to get some feedback from people so we can make a good decision when time comes.
One thing you may consider is integration with the Mylar eclipse plugin - you will find that continuum makes
use of the same bug tracking integration api (so maven can start to associated source code commits with bug fixes). Ie it would
be a good step to future proof your project ....
I have not yet looked at your developers docs do I do not know if you use maven or ant (or anything?)
I can recommend the project to codehaus if you want to use the same set up as GeoTools. They have
been pretty good about uptime (especially with respect to source forge).
