Hello,
I’m new in Geonetwork’s matter, and I’m configuring a Geonetwork 3.2.2.
I’m trying to create a config-editor view following the instructions available at (-Defining a view- section)
https://geonetwork-opensource.org/manuals/trunk/eng/users/customizing-application/editor-ui/creating-custom-editor.html#configuring-views
I’ve just copied the block and set a different name to it for testing the feature (). Then added to *\WEB-INF\data\config\schema_plugins\iso19139\loc\eng\strings.xml the
Tracasa literal, but after reloading tomcat doesn’t work. (I’ve tested it over 3.2.2 release and over 3.0.5).
Could anyone help me with this? Do I need to do something else?
Thanks in advance,
Amaia.
Hi Amaya,
Have you checked that the schema_plugins folder for iso19139 has been replaced on the data directory? By default, GeoNetwork does not remove and redeploy de schemas on each restart, to avoid overwriting custom code.
The other thing to check is that the view is not disabled.
Regards,
María.

Hi,
No, the config-editor file is not stored on the database.
If the problem was the translation (maybe you are using spa while changing the strings.xml in eng), you would see a blank option on the views.
Other first things to check are: is the metadata you are trying to edit from the same schema (iso19139)? Are there any errors on the log file?

Hello María,
First of all, thanks for the quick answer. I’m updating directly the config-editor file in the data directory and the view is not disabled (by default a view without disabled attribute set to true is not disabled).
I have no mentioned that I’ve deploy the war of Geonetwork OOTB (Out Of The Box) so that I’m working with the embedded database…Could be the problem? I mean, could be this configuration on any BLOB field or something similar? There is no error on the tomcat logs but the view doesn’t appear in the picker.
Regards,
Amaia.
