I found some messages in the list archives regarding GeoNetwork and Portlets, but I couldn’t quite find a roadmap that documents where GeoNetwork is going with respect to support for Portlets. Hence my question.
We are in the early stages of setting up a portal for SCENZ-Grid, a New Zealand focused GeoScience Collaboration Infrastructure. Part of this would be a GeoNetwork Node as repository for spatial data. We would very much like to integrate the GeoNetwork capabilities into the JBoss Portal in the form of Portlets. Also a single sign-on from the portal into GeoNetwork would be something we like to implement.
Are there any examples of packaging GeoNetwork in Portlets, and how far away is the 3.0 branch? (if there is Portlet support in there at all)
