[GeoNetwork-devel] Non-critical system checks links

Hi Developers,

I notice in geonetwork 3.4, in the statistics and status dashboard, that when the non-critical system checks report an error, the link (eg Dashboard application or Remote index) turns into a link to “example.com”.

I can see this in the code here (I think): https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/blob/3.4.x/web-ui/src/main/resources/catalog/templates/admin/dashboard/status.html#L51

I was wondering what the intention of this link was- where should it really go, or should it not be a link at all?

Thanks

Jo

Hi Jo

That link is displayed if there’s an error in Dashboard application element and it shows a message about the Dashboard error when you click it, it doesn’t open the link.

I tried to edit the page in Chrome, and if I empty the href value from the link, then when clicking it, I’m forwarded to the settings page. Seem somehow requires a url in the href of the link to work displaying the message, but also wondering if there’s a better way t handle this as currently it looks confusing.

Regards,
Jose García

Hi Jose,

Yes at the moment it’s fairly confusing. Could it just show the link to the page that it’s on?

Hi Jo

The link is not really used, but indeed makes sense to use the link to the Kibana Dashboard in 3.4.x, will be less confusing. I’ll check about this.
