Hi all,
Its been a while I discussed OSGeo incubation specifically on this list, but I think its time to pick it up again
Some time age, during the GeoNetwork workshop in Rome we established a Project Steering Committee (PSC) with a voting procedure, a Release strategy and a strategy for new developments through Proposals. These have previously been discussed and presented also on the mailing list.
I have recently updated the home page of the Developer site in order to make it simpler to read (I hope ), so you should be able to find the guidelines quickly at GeoNetwork opensource Developer website
We also had a couple of votes in recent times by the PSC and we're now working to get a new release version 2.2.0 ready in about six weeks.
All together, I think we are ready to request the OSGeo Incubation Committee to consider the project for graduation. I would like to do this once we make our 2.2.0 Final Release in six weeks from now.
Are there any observations, comments, suggestions on this on your side? Shall I make a motion on the Developers list that asks Jody to, as our incubation mentor, to ask the Incubation Committee of OSGeo to have the project graduate?
Once again a rousing response All is good on my end; just need a thumbs up from the community.
Jody

So Jeroen is this delay a thumbs down from the community - as with most devel lists everyone wants the software to work
Can we make a motion for the PSC to vote that they are ready?
Jody

Hehe I actually think it is because I proposed to make a motion once our release 2.2.0 was final (see below). With all the other incubation activity we could consider also making such motion now, but I rather stick to the plan of doing so once version 2.2 is final (in 2.5 weeks from now).
Ciao,
Jeroen
