Hi Developers,
I was wondering if you have a formal release date for 3.4 yet, but also if you have a timescale for how long you will be supporting bug fixes for 3.2?
This is so I can make a decision about whether to go straight for 3.4 for a new installation or to stick with 3.2.
Thanks
Jo

Hi Jo
3.4 afaik is planned for next week. About going for 3.4 or 3.2, it’s tricky and probably other developers will not agree with my comments, but I guess they’ll provide additional feedback with their thoughts.
3.4 contains some nice improvements (simplifying quite a lot: improvements in the UI and allow more UI stuff to be configured in the administration UI, usage of ElasticSearch/Kibana for search/content statistics), apart of bug fixes (not always applied to 3.2.x unfortunately) , but on the other side at least based in previous releases probably will be required a 3.4.1 to fix some major issues that can arise in 3.4.0.
For me all depends on your time-frame, if you need to do a new deployment in next 2-3 weeks, in my personal opinion I would go for 3.2.2 version and plan later for a 3.4.x migration. If you have more time to do such a deployment so can test 3.4.x, or you have already tested, with your customer setup and no major issues found, 3.4 seem a good option to me.

Jose García
