[GeoNetwork-devel] Request geonetwork/mapfish-print fork

I would like to request:

  1. A fork https://github.com/GeoCat/mapfish-print to create a 2.2.x branch based on OpenPDF
  2. I will include the QA tests submodule mapfish-print-e2e-test (which I have already upgraded from GeoServer 2.4.3 to GeoServer 2.21.0)

Background:

I have been looking at Switching from iText 5 to OpenPDF for PDF map rendering. This change migrates away from iText 5 (due to license conflict and security vulnerabilities). The OpenPDF project is a fork of iText 4.2 before the license change to AGPL and is actively maintained.

We have two components to migrate:

  1. flying-saucer-pdf: Changing to flying-saucer-pdf-openpdf worked just fine
  2. mapfish-print: Changing mapfish-print will require a fork and a new 2.2.x branch
