[GeoNetwork-users] Can I change simlpe search option values in the region_simple select?

Hi folks,

I am new to Geonetwork, and I find myself a bit stuck as I cannot find any information about this particular issue.

I need to customize the Minimap for simple searching. I have found that it is relatively easy to add new map content to both the main Map Viewer and the Minimap on the main page (simple WMS layers). But I want to change the associated option values in the region_simple select and have the new values bound to regions on the new map I set up for the main page. For example, I would like to have the map limited to the United States and have all 52 state names in the dropdown. Obviously, when I select a state name, Alaska for example, Alaska would be highlighted and the map would zoom, etc... Is this possible? I found one post that alludes to this issue but does not address it directly. In that post, it was mentioned that the option values in the region_simple select were hard-coded in some java class. Is this accurate? If so, it would seem that these dropdown values are not configurable, but would require us to edit the source code and recompile Geonetwork. Is this accurate?

Any help would be much appreciated.
