[GeoNetwork-users] Cannot download GN data

Hi

I'm Macharia from Kenya. I'm running GN under Tomcat7 on a server with
Windows Server 2008. I have created metadata records and uploaded the
corresponding zipped folders containing the data.

When I use a desktop PC and connect to the GN I'm able to search for
datasets and even view the metadata.

However, if I click on the "Download" button, the browser displays the
message: "Unable to connect".

Has anyone encountered this problem?

Regards
Macharia Kabiro.

Hi,

Yes, I've got the same problem : when importing your metadata (in MEF file
I suppose), Geonetwork doesn't actualize the path for download (and other
things)
You can solve some of this problem using GAST synchronize function : it
will change the server name to your new host's name.
But, for example, if you have changed the servlet's name (replace
geonetwork by another name, e.g. geocat) it will not change this part, and
the link still won't work.
There are other issues. See my last post about this.

I have partly fixed the URL issue by making some string replacements in the
search-results-xhtml.xsl file. But it's some of dirty hack, since it
doesn't fix the urls in the database...
If you need this replacement code, tell me.
Cheers,

jean
