[GeoNetwork-users] Domain for GeoNetwork project

Dear all,

Sean Khan suggested registering a domain for the GeoNetwork project, and he is absolutely right. We have taken way to long to do so. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a domain that is still available? Please let me know and I will register it and make the community site use it.

Sean's suggestion: geonetwork-community.org

I have some other domains that could be used too: mysdi.org and mysdi.net (would be geonetwork.mysdi.org for example)

Or something else that's appropriate.

All,

I personally like geonetwork.mysdi.org as I think that geonetwork-community.org may cause confusion with the opensource Geonetwork community site even if it isn’t called that way by URL.

Just an opinion from an old GeoNetwork fan and, for those who know, the ‘higher reality’ of geonetwork.mysdi is just perfect!!!

I've one more suggestion (and hope that the registrant of geonetwork.org will give up his domain by the end of this year :slight_smile: )

I thought simply geonetwork-opensource.org makes sense. (What a brain wave that was :wink: )

Anyone has an objection to that? I could register it and quickly start using it.

geonetwork-opensource is nice

Lets pray for geonetwork.org or .net....I think this is really to the

Yes, there's no contact info to connect to the person that registered it and I can only hope that he will release it by 29 December when his registration ends. Its one of those really useless sites displaying semi-random links on an auto generated page....
