[GeoNetwork-users] GeoNetwork v3 and INSPIRE metadata

Hello,

I'm trying to enable all INSPIRE-specific features in GeoNetwork v3.0.0 but it seems that I can't get it to work. Although I have enabled both 'Admin console'->'Settings'->'System settings'->'INSPIRE Directive configuration'->'INSPIRE search panel' and 'Admin console'->'Settings'->'System settings'->'Metadata views'->'INSPIRE view', neither INSPIRE search panel nor INSPIRE metadata view show up in my interface. I've looked up for documentation about configuring GeoNetwork but the most up-to-date (2.11.0) I found, didn't helped me much.

Does GeoNetwork v3 fully supports managing, validating and publishing INSPIRE metadata as in previous versions?

If it does, can someone please point me in the right direction about configuring it properly?

Regards,

Kostas

Hi Konstantinos

Related to the search panel, I see this commit
https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/commit/b192dae823c0a7482c8d3672968e2edcd04a389d,
so should be available in coming 3.0.1 release

Related to the metadata editor view, in 3.0 the editor has quite changes
and seem the setting is not used there, you can enable the inspire view
removing the disabled attribute in
https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/blob/3.0.x/schemas/iso19139/src/main/plugin/iso19139/layout/config-editor.xml#L234

Jose García

I have enabled these INSPIRE things, but I still don't have INSPIRE Themes
fields (as seen here:
http://sdi.eea.europa.eu/catalogue/srv/eng/catalog.search#/metadata/548f9a25-2488-4d86-949e-0a286515eba8
)
I wonder what I need to change to enable these features?

Hi,

please make sure you added the INSPIRE theme thesaurus.

- Go in
   Admin console > Classification systems
If you don't have the “GEMET - INSPIRE themes, version 1.0 (theme)” thesaurus, then:

- Add Thesaurus

- Select the “From URL” entry from the choice.

- Put in the URL field this address:
    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/geonetwork/util-gemet/master/thesauri/inspire-theme.rdf
And select “Theme” in the dropdown menu.

Once uploaded, you should have the new entry “GEMET - INSPIRE themes, version 1.0 (theme)”.

If you already have some metadata in your geonetwork instance (for instance you may have harvested INSPIRE metadata),
you have to reindex the catalog.

   Cheers,
   Emanuele

Hi, thank you for your answer.
I have done this before, but I don't have this option... I have also tried
with rebuilding index, but no differences, I only see these inspire themes
under keywords that is why on home page I don't have INSPIRE facets search
enabled...

Does anybody have an idea what else I can do to show INSPIRE themes sections?

Do you mean the icons under "Browse by INSPIRE themes" ?

If not, i am sorry maybe hijacking this thread.

But i have problems with Inspire-metadata myself.
If i try one of the inspire themes under "Browse by INSPIRE themes"
GN-3-search never finds anything.

The theme icons show a plausible nr. of metadata but clicking on them yields
only
":frowning: No results found"

Browse by topics just works fine.

It could be an issue with the Lucene-Facet-Search as i find several entries
like this:
/[geonetwork.search-logger] - unknown queryInfo type:
org.apache.lucene.facet.DrillDownQuery/
in the Log.

Hi,

Should be fixed by https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/issues/1386.
Let me know if this works.

Cheers.

Bonne jour Francois.

That is great news.
I used GN-3.0.3. Does this fix apply to that particular version?

Hi Francois.

I applied the fix and restated everything.

Unfortuantely i cannot find any differences and the log does not tell my
anything.

Queries for Inspire-Themes look like this (INSPIRE-Theme: Geologie) :

/http://cnvbrwgdit3.net.vlr.gv.at:8900/geonetwork/srv/ger/q?_content_type=json&facet.q=inspiretheme/Geologie&fast=index&from=1&resultType=details&sortBy=relevance&sortOrder=&to=20/

Should i check the Luncene index itself?

hum, it may be related to the cache.

Try to:
* remove WEB-INF/data/wro4j-* files
* restart
* clean your browser cache

Nope.

No difference.

I call the browser like this:
/"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe"
--disable-cache http://cnvbrwgdit3.net.vlr.gv.at:8900/geonetwork/

So browser cache should mot be an issue.

Thanks for your support though!

In my experience when testing the fix, i had to remove wro4j cache in geonetwork datadir, and the issue disappeared. For good measure i also regenerated the lucene index but i'm not sure that was needed.

Sorry no gain this way.

The query just yields an empty json.

Maybe it is a data related issue.

The data i use now are from some xml-Metadata exportet from our poductive
GN-10.2-Installation.

But i also tried a bulk approach copying the whole metada_data folder into a
vanilla GN-3.0.3 and using a copy of the GN-10.2-Postgres-DB which was
migrated by GN itself during the the startup of the modified GN.
The whole thing (some minor sql-fixes had to be applied) appeared to be
successful but the INSPIRE-theme search never worked.

So i think i have to inspect the Lucene-Index.

PS: Should i just wait for things to settle down before atempting to use
GN-3? But it looks very pretty.

The INSPIRE links in the home page are built from the facets.

Try
http://apps.titellus.net/geonetwork/srv/eng/qi?_content_type=json&summaryOnly=true
and check that inspireThemesURI facet is present. Then it should work eg.
http://apps.titellus.net/geonetwork.

I confirm that dropping wro4j cache and restart make the changes to be
applied. eg. on Tomcat
rm webapps/geonetwork/WEB-INF/data/wro4j-cache.*
touch webapps/geonetwork/WEB-INF/web.xml

Bingo!

Normally in our infrastructure GN is run within Tomcat, which also hosts
other applications like e. g.Geoserver.

But this time i used ...../bin/startup.sh to fire up GN-3.

And the INSPIRE-search works!

So somebodey else ist to blame here.

=> Maybe an upgrade of Tomcat (7.0.33) and/or JAVA (java-1.7.0-openjdk) is
required.

check INSPIRE view
