[GeoNetwork-users] Harvesting help needed

Hi,
We are trying to harvest records (flltered on a pattern) from:http://dc.niwa.co.nz/niwa_dc/srv/en/main.home
to:http://geocatalog.webservice-energy.org/geonetwork/srv/eng/main.home

Source records use the Australian MCP profile (which does not appear to be supported in the target catalogue), or a custom NIWA profile (allowing our project codes to be entered), both are ISO19115/19139 compliant.
The filter used to select appropriate records is the string USEGASWE (in the specific usage field)

Before I start providing lot's of detail on the actual errors, can anyone provide some general pointers or suggestions?

Thanks,
Brent Wood

hi,

in spite of what you ask, I think it'd be helpful if you could provide at
least some detail on actual errors you get.

As a general suggestion, you could try querying the source catalog by
posting XML requests directly using a tool like Poster, and see if what you
get back is what you expected.

Kind regards
Heikki Doeleman

Hi Brent and Heikki,
as the webservice-energy is mine, I do a little "up" on this topic.
Heikki, would you need anything from our side (webservice-energy) ?
I don't know the "Poster" search tool you mentioned. Could you provide a
link ?

Please let me know.

Thanks, cheers,

Lionel

hi Lionel,

sure: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/poster/

Log files of both server and client would be a good start, plus a
description of what actually goes wrong :-).

Kind regards

FYI

NIWA is commissioning an enhancement to GN2.8 harvesting of WxS metadata. We hope this will feed back into trunk.

We want to have harvested records be compliant with the Australasian ANZLIC &/or MCP profiles of ISO 19115.

The metadata provided by any OGC WxS service is only a subset of that required for an ISO compliant record We are looking to enable a template record to be associated with a harvesting event, with the harvesting process populating fields from the template to more completely populate each harvested record.

If anyone has any suggestions or is interested in collaborating on this, please let me know.

Cheers,

Brent Wood

Hi group,
anyone has installed geonetwork with an existing geoserver ? By default geoserver is delivered with geoserver.war that's unpacked when you start geonetwork server.
I'd like to use my existing geoserver for the world map ...
Thanks !

Hi Olivier

The map configuration in GeoNetwork is in WEB-INF/config-gui.xml file. See
the sections for mapSearch and mapViewer to configure your layers instead
of the default ones.

Does anyone know how we can fix the maps & search extents in Geonetwork to work across 180 degrees?

See the maps in the link below to see the problem....
