[GeoNetwork-users] Instructions how to connect proftpd to GeoNetwork

Hello all,

for our GDI we use GeoNetwork for managing metadata. Also, there is an
FTP-server (proftpd) for the users that they can use to upload ZIP-archives
with geodata (shapes or whatever).

For those who'd like to connect the FTP-Server to the usertable of
GeoNetwork I prepared a short article in german how to do this:
http://www.moenk.de/archives/71-FTP-Server-fuer-GeoNetwork.html

Let me know if you find this useful or if you have any idea how to create a
view for the groups in the required format.

Have fun,

-moenk

Hi,

This looks pretty interesting. if you have time to translate it in english,
it would be nice, since, as many people, I don't speak nor read german...
:o)
Cheers,

Jean

Victor,

in fact the users will connect with their ftp client to the proftpd - but
they can use the same credentials they use for the GeoNetwork. This gives a
seamless integration of the ftp server to the metadata database. Users can
upload geodata as files by ftp and link to them when entering metadata for
the geodata.

Cheers,
