[GeoNetwork-users] MEF import thumbnail problem

Hallo,

I have serious problems with importing thumbnails. I wrote a Java program, which is parsing shapefiles and acompanying aux. information and creates valid metadata.xml, and info.xml along with rendered thumbnail images. The output of the program is a) a valid .mef file and b) the not zipped mef as folder with its public subfolder and the thumbnails in there. If I use the mef import in gast of gn2.1 the data are correctly imported except for the thumbnails which do not show up in the web frontend. the funny thing is, when i create the zip (mef) archive manually from the folder and import it again with gast, the thumbnails show up. another thing i realized is, that both mef archives (the java generated and the manually zipped) differ in size, even if there content files are exactly the same.
does anybody know what might be the problem?
thanks a lot.
steffen
ps: i work on windows.

Hi Steffen,
Do you have the mef files concerned somewhere available that we could look at them?
Thanks,
Jeroen

Hi Steffen,
I compared the two files. It seems that the embedded thumbnails are significantly different in the two files:

Taking a closer look at the metadata, they even concern different data sets. So I can't compare a working with a non working version of the same data :frowning:

To check, I need both files you said are identical (Java zipped and manually zipped).
Ciao,
Jeroen
