Hi,
For information, OSGeo is one of the 50 (from 200) projects accepted
for this year's Google Season of Docs, which is an initiative bringing
together senior technical writers and open source projects to improve
documentation. María Arias de Reyna and I submitted a proposal for
Geonetwork to be one of the projects that we'd focus on, alongside
QGIS and OSGeoLive. See

for our suggestions. I'm an administrator and mentor on the project as
well.
As well as the senior technical writer that we will be assigned, we're
very keen to get other people involved (see
https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Season_of_Docs_Ideas_2019#Key_roles_sought
for the list of potential roles), and also to gather ideas about what
could be improved or included. The kinds of things we're interested in
are:
1) What are the issues with existing documentation?
2) What barriers are there for new users to contribute to the documentation?
3) What new documentation would be useful?
We're interested in any or all opinions- so please feel free to either
