Dear all,
since reinstalling our server with Ubuntu 20.04 and Tomcat9 we have problems to swap out the geonetwork-data directory under GeoNetwork 3.12.2.
We have entered the following instruction in the file "/usr/share/tomcat9/bin/setenv.sh":
export CATALINA_OPTS="$CATALINA_OPTS -Dgeonetwork.dir=/data/geonetwork/geonetwork-data".
However, the data directory specified there is not accepted by GeoNetwork. GeoNetwork continues to use the default settings and writes the data to the directory "/var/lib/tomcat9/geonetwork/WEB-INF/data". Using Ubuntu 18.04 and tomcat8 the application works fine with the same settings and the same permissions and accepted the external "geonetwork-data" directory without any problems.
What could be the cause of the problem? Does anyone have a tip or similar experience?
Regards
Burghardt

What do you mean with "not accepted"? What is shown as data directory in
Admin Console -> Statistics and Status -> Information -> Data directory ?
