[GeoNetwork-users] Running Geonetwork 4 along with Geoserver 23

Hi!
I want to setup a new Ubuntu 24 server with Geonetwork and Geoserver
(latest versions).
I want to use tomcat as servlet container. I understand that Tomcat 9 is
compatible with both.
However, Geonetwork needs Java 8 and Geoserver needs Java 11.
I can install both Java versions, but the problem is to point Geonetwork to
the Java 8 instance.
I have had such a setup running for more than a year, but it suddenly
defaulted to Java 11, which stopped Geonetwork from running. I found no way
to force Geonetwork to the Java 8 instance.
So I decided to start with a new machine, and get it right from the start.
Both ChatGPT and Gemini suggests parallel Tomcat instances, but I was
hoping that there would be a simpler configuration issue.

Thanks Byron!
That is great information! I will certainly go for that.
Sorry I looked no further than v4.2 and did not know that the Java issue
had been resolved.
