[GeoNetwork-users] SEO - Metadata Indexation

Dear Geonetwork community,

We have a geonetwork instance for the swiss authorities that was poorly indexed by search engines for many years. I assume mainly because the robots.txt file is not stored at the right place per default, i.e. at https://hostname/geonetwork/srv/api/robots.txt and not at the directory root https://hostname/robots.txt.

To fix that, I explicitly gave the robots.txt URL and the sitemap index URL for indexation to Google Search Console :

  * https://www.geocat.ch/geonetwork/srv/api/robots.txt
  * https://www.geocat.ch/geonetwork/srv/api/sitemap

Now, the metadata indexation is working but extremely slow. We have ca. 14'000 metadata in our catalogue and google indexes only 1'000 Metadata URL per month.

Does anyone had a similar experience/issue and knows a way to overcome that ?

Many Thanks in advance
All the best
