GeoServer 2.27.0 release - incl. security updates

The GeoServer team is happy to announce the release of GeoServer 2.27.0. It is available to download from: GeoServer 2.27.0

Please note that this release (and the previous 2.26.x and 2.25.x maintenance releases) addresses several security vulnerabilities and is a recommended upgrade for production systems. In order to give you time to upgrade, public disclosure of these issues are scheduled for Tuesday 22 April.

There are a whole lot of new features to explore, please read the blog post above for all the details. Highlights include:

  • OGC API FeaturesService Extension
  • OGC CITE Compliance
  • Content Security Policy Enforced (NB: CSP troubleshooting)
  • Faster Catalog Loading (thanks GeoServer Cloud!)
  • File System Sandbox Isolation
  • MapML Enhancement
  • Smart Data Loader Enhancements
  • GeoFence Improvements

This is might be the very last GeoServer 2.x series ever, but it depends on your/your company’s help to reach the crowdfunding target for GeoServer 3, which provides a far more secure and future-proof platform on which to deliver all these GIS goodies that you love. We are 93% of the way there, but we cannot start without being 100% funded. Please, please do your part to help us reach this goal as quickly as possible.

Lastly, many thanks go to Gabriel Roldan (Camptocamp) and Jody Garnett (GeoCat) for making this release and to all the other contributors who helped with this release cycle.

Thanks @Peter this is a really good release!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank @groldan (Camptocamp) for the work on faster catalog loading.

The part that is not mentioned in the release announcement is where this work comes from - this is the first big code donations from GeoServer Cloud back to the standalone web application we all use.

There is a graph in the release announcement (reproduced below) showing this impressive improvement.
