While reviewing the files for GeoServer version 3.0-RC on the SourceForge project page, I noticed that the Windows installer file GeoServer-3.0-RC-winsetup.exe (or 2.28.3)does not appear to be available in the release directory.
I would like to kindly ask whether the Windows installer for version 3.0-RC was intentionally not released, or if it may have been relocated to another download location.
For your reference, the release directory I checked is:
Thanks, the certificate used to sign the installer expired and we are going through the steps to obtain a new one from the Open Source Geospatial Foundation. When it is available we will update the release announcement.
The release announcement currently states:
We are working with OSGeo for the windows installer download, and will update this post when it is available. Windows users are asked to test out the bin download while we wait.
Thank you very much for your continued efforts and for keeping me informed regarding the Windows installer situation.
According to the recent update, I fully understand that the signing certificate is currently being renewed through the Open Source Geospatial Foundation, and I appreciate the steps being taken to resolve this.
When you have a convenient moment, I would be grateful if you could kindly share a bit more context on the following points:
1.According to the current progress, is there any indicative timeline for when the new signing certificate might be completed?
2.Once the new certificate is in place, would it be possible to share the expected validity period for planning purposes?
3.Regarding the Windows winsetup installer, would there be any preliminary timeline or outlook on when it might be available for release?
I completely understand that these timelines may be subject to external processes and changes, and I truly appreciate any guidance you are able to provide.
The certificate is available (and used by QGIS) we just need it in the hands of the build person responsible for the Jenkins build server producing the installer.
The certificate renews each year, we just need some kind of reminder, (see recent PSC meeting notes for discussion…)
I talked to @juanluisrp today and he has not had an opportunity to look at it. We can reply to this thread also when it is available.
