Hello!
Which version of JAI and JAIO should i use with the latest 1.4.x wcs merge?
I'm having problems with png pictures not being displayed (i have the
correct SRS).

I can display demo examples (usa map, tasmania... in uDig or Mapbuilder) but
i cannot display a tif i add. i create the coverage store and then coverage.
Then i try displaying it (uDig, mapbuilder) and everythign seems OK but no
image gets displayed!! i have the correct SRS...
my data: a tfw file, a tif file and a prj file.
i only get one warning from geoserver:
[WARNING] org.geotools.renderer.lite.StreamingRenderer - The number of image
bands (3) differs from the number of supplied 'SampleDimension' objects (1).
is this the cause of my problem?

sorry for the delay but I have just got back from vacation.
Just a note.
The strange behaviour you saw lat week with the mosaic was a bug, I
fixed it and I committed the fix lat thursday so now everything should
be fine.
Afat about JAI and ImageIO. I would recommend using the latest daily
builds because they contain many improvements. If you have problems
finding them or installing them I can help you out.
Afat about the problem you are encountering, it would help having a
sample image to test here. I should already know your system info.

Hey!
Yes, the mosaic works fine now. I'm very happy to see that 
I have included the problematic image (i had to crop it because it was too
big). There are also 2 images of what geoserver generates from this image
(do u see anything wrong on them?)

you are right, unfortunately we have not had time yet to fix your
problem because it is related to JAI, hence it requires a bit more
investigation (and by the way yesterday was vacation in italy ).
I am pretty confident that between this evening and tomorrow we will

Ciao Blaz,
I investigated your problems and I right away noticed that the image
is in index color model. You should convert it to rgb and it will
works just fine.
If you have problems doing so I can give a hand.
In case you wonder why index color model or paletted it is just
because of lack of time and because they are quite inefficient as data
sources, especially when, like your case, you need to often reproject
them.
Thx for spending time on testing the branch. I know it has glitches
because it is still under development but we are now mostly beatifying
and fixing bugs for getting a nice (hopefully) release.

Well,
it could be easy to add support for them it is just that it is not a
priority for this release.
I did not spent much time for the moment because they are very
inefficient when it comes to reprojections and such since most part of
the time you need to reconvert to a banded color model before doing so
otherwise you'll get strange results.
So the point is, why doing so at each request instead of doind it just
once. Naturally this is my point of view and you are free to disagree
:-).
