[Geoserver-devel] Branches

Hi all,

We seem to have a couple of branches being worked on right now.

1. 1.4.x
2. WCS
3. Google / KML ? (Brent)
4. Complex-features
5. Trunk

At the moment, the first three branches are being activley developed on. As we get close to the first milestone release of 1.4.x I would like to see us come up with a plan for merging.

WCS is still in the works. The major thing holding us back is the Geotools GC merge. After that its just a matter of moving GeoServer to GT trunk, hopefully timed with the creation of a stable 2.3.x geotools branch. The GC merge is being worked on as we speak so this one is gettig close.

For the branch that brent is working on, I dont see a reason why we couldn't merge with 1.4.x right now. If brent is not against it and has a bit of time to spare I would like to discuss merging. My motivation is that I want someone else with different requirements to be hitting 1.4.x so that we can be sure it is ready to be put on trunk.

Complex-features unfortunatley is dependent on the geotools FM merge which it is unclear when exactly that is going to happen.

Any thoughts?

I won't have time to merge onto 1.4 until mid June. But I will be merging it onto trunk next week or this weekend. Then hopefully popping out a 1.3.1 release.
